spouliot 328b195127 Design consistency audit fixes: alerts, cards, dark mode, utilities
Alert sweep (113 alerts, 79 files):
All persistent static banners now carry alert-permanent so the
  layout's 5-second auto-dismiss cannot swallow guidance, warnings,
or validation errors. Transient dismissible toasts left untouched.

CSS fixes (site.css):
.card.shadow-sm — strips rogue border from ~40 drifted cards
  .card-header.bg-white — rebinds to var(--bs-body-bg) so card
                          headers follow dark/light theme correctly
  Typography utilities — .text-2xs (.68rem), .text-xs (.73rem)
  Token color classes — .text-ember, .text-ok, .text-bad,
                          .text-warn, .text-cool, .bg-paper-2
  Layout utilities — .mw-xs/sm/md/lg replace inline max-width
  Comment — documents text-ember vs text-primary intent

spouliot 0204430fa5 Add Operations/Finance mode switcher to sidebar nav
Two-tab strip between Dashboard and the Operations section lets users
toggle between the shop-management view and the accounting view.
FOUC-prevention: server-side controller detection stamps data-nav-mode
on <html> before first paint; CSS hides the inactive side instantly.
JS (nav-mode.js) auto-switches to Finance when navigating to an
accounting controller, restores saved preference everywhere else.
Vendors appears in both modes; all 39 nav items carry data-nav tags.

spouliot 4fd9c52aaf Phase G: Add Budgeting and Year-End Close
Budgeting:
- Budget + BudgetLine entities with Jan–Dec monthly columns per GL account
- BudgetsController: Index, Create, Edit, SetDefault, Copy, Delete
- Copy action rolls a budget forward to a new fiscal year
- Budget vs. Actual report (BudgetVsActual): compares monthly budget amounts to
real P&L by calling GetProfitAndLossAsync once per month; variance shown as
favorable/unfavorable; year + budget selectors in header
- Views: Budgets/Index, Create, Edit with inline annual totals via budget-edit.js
- Nav link + report card on Landing

Year-End Close:
- YearEndClose entity records each closed year + JE reference for audit trail
- AccountsController.YearEndClose GET (history + form) + CloseYear POST
- Close zeroes all Revenue and Expense/COGS account balances into Retained Earnings
via IAccountBalanceService and posts a supporting JE dated Dec 31
- Idempotency: rejects attempt to close an already-closed year
- Pre-close checklist in view to guide the workflow
- Nav link under Finance

spouliot fde24b09c9 Phase F: Add Invoice Write-Off, Fixed Assets, Period Locking, and 1099 Tracking
- Invoice Write-Off: WriteOff POST action in InvoicesController posts bad-debt JE
  (DR bad debt expense / CR AR), reduces customer balance, marks invoice WrittenOff;
write-off modal added to Invoice Details view with expense account selector
- Fixed Assets: FixedAsset + FixedAssetDepreciationEntry entities with straight-line
  depreciation; FixedAssetsController (Index/Create/Edit/Details/PostDepreciation/Delete);
PostDepreciation auto-generates one JE per asset per period, skips already-posted,
fully-depreciated, and disposed assets; full CRUD views + nav link
- Period Locking: Company.BookLockedThrough field; AccountingPeriodValidator static helper;
  lock check added to JE Post and Bill Create (blocks backdating into closed periods);
SetPeriodLock action + date picker UI in Company Settings Accounting section
- 1099 Tracking: Is1099Vendor flag on Vendor entity + DTOs; checkbox in Create/Edit views;
  TaxReporting1099 report action + view lists payments by year, flags vendors >= $600;
report card added to Reports Landing
- Migration AddFixedAssetsLockAnd1099 applied

spouliot a255893ada Add Credit Memos standalone management module
CreditMemosController with Index, Details, Create, Apply, and Void actions.
All business logic (atomic apply transaction, RemainingBalance cap,
customer.CreditBalance adjustment, auto-Paid invoice when BalanceDue hits zero)
mirrors the invoice-centric IssueCreditMemo/ApplyCredit/VoidCreditMemo actions in
InvoicesController but redirects back to the credit memo rather than an invoice.

Views: Index (stats bar, status+search filter, table), Details (two-col layout
with application history table and Bootstrap Apply/Void confirm modals),
Create (customer dropdown, amount, reason, notes, optional expiry).

Apply modal populates amount automatically from min(remaining credit,
invoice balance due) via credit-memo.js data-attribute wiring (no inline scripts).

Nav: Credit Memos added to Billing & Payments section in _Layout.

Build: 0 errors. Unit tests: 200/200.

spouliot 3278152d83 Fix invoice re-creation after void; add payment terms selector and shop supplies line
- Voided invoices no longer block creating a new invoice for the same job: voided invoice's
JobId FK is cleared so the unique index slot is freed for the replacement
- Invoice Details view shows voided invoices as history rather than hiding them
- Payment terms: standardized SelectList (Due on Receipt, Net 15/30/45/60/90, 2% 10 Net 30,
COD) with custom-term preservation; invoice-due-date.js auto-updates Due Date on term change
- Shop supplies on direct (no-quote) jobs: InvoicesController derives the shop supplies line
from the company rate when the job has no source quote to read the pre-agreed amount from
- Job entity: ShopSuppliesAmount + ShopSuppliesPercent fields preserved through job lifecycle
- Migration: AddShopSuppliesAmountToJob

spouliot fc35fd123c Add IsIncoming inventory flag and catalog-to-incoming powder flow in item wizard
- InventoryItem.IsIncoming: marks powder ordered but not yet received; enables QR code
printing on work orders while the shipment is in transit
- InventoryController.CreateIncomingFromCatalog: POST endpoint creates a 0-balance inventory
record from a PowderCatalogItem and returns it in wizard-compatible shape
- item-wizard.js: custom coat tab now searches the platform powder catalog as a fallback;
catalog results show an 'Add as Incoming Order' option; createIncomingFromCatalog POSTs
to server and selects the new item without a page refresh
- QuoteItemCoatDto: CatalogItemId + AddAsIncoming fields so the wizard can signal server-side
  incoming-item creation during quote save
- Inventory Create/Edit/Index views: IsIncoming badge and field
- IInventoryAiLookupService: minor interface update
- Migration: AddInventoryIsIncoming

spouliot 4d10175ce3 Add oven batch cost to AI Quick Quote (1 batch, DefaultOvenCycleMinutes or 50 min)
Previously the quick quote omitted the oven charge entirely, so saved quotes
were under-priced relative to full quotes from the same items.

Pricing: CalculatePricing now calculates ovenBatchCost = (cycleMin/60) × OvenOperatingCostPerHour
using DefaultOvenCycleMinutes (fallback 50 min), then adds it to the total as a quote-level
charge matching how PricingCalculationService handles oven costs.

Save path: SaveQuickQuoteRequest gains OvenBatchCost + OvenCycleMinutes; the Quote record
now stores OvenBatchCost, OvenCycleMinutes, and Total = ItemsSubtotal + OvenBatchCost.

Display: results card shows a sub-line under the estimate price:
"incl. oven 1 batch 50 min: $12.00"

spouliot ecb285657a Fix sandblast-only toggle overflow and $0 AI quote pricing
Overflow: replaced Bootstrap form-check with an explicit flex row so the
two-line label (title + subtitle) never bleeds outside the card boundary.

$0 pricing: when sandblast-only was toggled on an AI item, manualUnitPrice
was cleared and isAiItem set to false. The pricing engine then returned $0
because no prep services with minutes were configured. Fix: preserve the AI
price when toggling sandblast-only, and keep isAiItem=true so the server
routes through the AI-price path (manualUnitPrice) rather than trying to
recalculate from prep labor.

spouliot 63a85b6ce9 Fix sandblast-only oven charge and wizard overflow; fix Jenkins test failures
Sandblast-only oven charge root cause:
renderCoatsList() is called on every step-3 render. When the sandblast-only
toggle was checked it cleared wz.data.coats to [], but renderCoatsList()
then saw an empty list and auto-called addCoatRow(), silently pushing a
Base Coat back into wz.data.coats. The server saw Coats.Any() = true and
included the item in the oven fraction calculation, producing an unexpected
oven batch charge. Fixed by bailing out of renderCoatsList() when
sandblastOnly is active, and added a matching safety net in
buildItemFromWizard() that forces coats:[] when sandblastOnly is true.

Also fixed sandblast-only toggle label overflow: subtitle span changed to
d-block so it wraps beneath the bold label instead of running inline.

Test fixes:
- DepositsController and GiftCertificatesController tests updated with the
required ICompanyLogoService mock parameter added to the logo fix commit.
- Two PricingCalculationServiceTests updated to include a coat entry on
each item, matching the service's updated requirement that only items
with coating layers are considered for oven fraction calculation.

spouliot 74414c6c71 Add AI overload retry with model fallback and consolidate wizard errors
Anthropic returns overloaded_error (HTTP 529) during high-demand periods.
Previously this failed immediately with a generic error. Now the service
retries Sonnet once after 5s, then falls back to Haiku (a separate
capacity pool) after another 3s before giving up. If all three attempts
are overloaded the user sees a clear "high demand" message rather than a
generic error. Non-overload errors still log at Error level.

Also consolidated AI wizard error display in item-wizard.js: photo upload
failures were using browser alert() while analyze failures used the inline
red alert bar. All errors now go through aiShowError() so they always
appear consistently as the red bar below the Analyze button. Removed the
alert() fallback from aiShowError() itself.

spouliot 5e3b0b9ddf Inline add-stock prompt when label scan finds existing inventory item
When a scanned label matches an item already in the tenant's inventory,
the scanner now opens an inline modal asking the user to add stock to the
existing item rather than navigating away or creating a duplicate.

- InventoryController.AddStock: new POST endpoint that creates a Purchase
transaction, updates QuantityOnHand, and optionally updates UnitCost /
LastPurchasePrice when a new cost is provided. Returns new balance as JSON.
- InventoryController.ScanLabel: extends the duplicate-detection response
to include existingQuantityOnHand and existingUnitOfMeasure so the modal
  can display current stock level.
- _LabelScanModal.cshtml: adds #addStockModal with quantity (+ UOM label),
optional unit cost (pre-filled from scan), optional notes, Add Stock CTA,
and an escape hatch to create a new entry instead.
- inventory-label-scan.js: when scan returns existingInventoryId the JS
opens addStockModal instead of a warning banner. Submitting POSTs to
/Inventory/AddStock and shows the updated balance in a success bar with
a link to the item. The 'new entry instead' path hides the modal and
pre-fills the create form with a softer duplicate warning.

spouliot 3aeec4ffb2 Warn on label scan when product already exists in tenant inventory
After resolving manufacturer + SKU from the scan, ScanLabel now queries the
tenant's InventoryItems: first by ManufacturerPartNumber exact match (most
precise), then by ColorName + Manufacturer fuzzy match as fallback.

If a match is found, the response includes existingInventoryId and
existingInventoryName. The JS fillFromScan() shows a warning banner with a
direct link to the existing item instead of the normal success message. Form
fields are still pre-filled so the user can proceed to add a new entry (e.g.
a different lot or bag size) if that was the intent.

spouliot 28b7b9f86b Fix QR detection (parallel loops), price extraction, and camera pre-warm
QR scanning:
- Run BarcodeDetector and jsQR in parallel — jsQR starts after JSQR_DELAY_MS
(1.5 s) so both decode simultaneously. BarcodeDetector silently returns empty
arrays for some QR variants; running jsQR in parallel via a separate rAF loop
(rafId2) and its own off-screen canvas catches those cases. First decoder to
find anything calls handleQrResult and sets qrFound = true; the other stops.

Price extraction (two bugs):
- ScanLabel: unitPrice was catalogMatch?.UnitPrice ?? 0m, ignoring aiResult
.UnitCostPerLb entirely when no catalog match — changed to fall through to AI result
- AppendOffer: only read JSON-LD "price" field; Shopify AggregateOffer uses
"lowPrice" instead — now checked as fallback so Prismatic Powders prices are found

Camera pre-warm:
- Reverted localStorage approach (caused getUserMedia to fire on every page load,
showing Chrome's "Ask" prompt immediately before user clicked anything)
- Restored Permissions API gate: preWarmCamera only calls getUserMedia when
navigator.permissions.query returns 'granted', never risks a page-load prompt

spouliot cf36e41139 Label scanner: fix QR detection, blank camera on processing, improve permission flow
QR scanning:
- BarcodeDetector now snapshots to canvas before detect() instead of passing
live video element — more reliable across Chrome versions
- Uses BarcodeDetector.getSupportedFormats() to detect all formats the browser
supports rather than hardcoding ['qr_code'], catching data_matrix etc.
- jsQR fallback unchanged (attemptBoth inversion)

Processing overlay:
- Added #scan-processing overlay div to _LabelScanModal with spinner + message
- Camera/scanning UI blanks immediately when QR is found or Scan Text tapped;
overlay message differs per path ("QR code found..." vs "Reading label with AI...")
- Overlay hides on error (modal stays open); modal close triggers hideProcessing()

Camera permission:
- localStorage flag (scannerCameraGranted) set on every successful getUserMedia
- preWarmCamera() checks flag first, bypassing navigator.permissions.query which
  can return 'prompt' for localhost even when Chrome has 'Allow' internally;
proactive getUserMedia on page load succeeds silently when permission is granted

spouliot 97cf6dcbf0 Pre-warm camera stream on page load if permission already granted
Uses Permissions API (non-prompting) to check camera state on load.
If state === 'granted', silently starts the stream so Scan Label opens
instantly with no browser prompt on subsequent page visits. Falls back
gracefully when Permissions API is unavailable or permission is 'prompt'.

2026-05-03 18:48:37 -04:00
spouliot 4b65572f6f Label scanner: native BarcodeDetector + keep stream alive between opens
- Use BarcodeDetector API (Chrome/Edge/Android) as primary QR scanner; it uses
native OS-level decoding which is far more reliable than jsQR for Prismatic's
QR codes. Falls back to jsQR (attemptBoth) on Safari/Firefox.
- Keep MediaStream alive between modal opens so the browser does not re-prompt
for camera permission on each scan within the same page session. Stream is
released after 2 min of idle (IDLE_RELEASE_MS) or on page unload.
- stopCamera() split into stopQrLoop() (cancel rAF only) and releaseCamera()
(stop tracks + null srcObject); modal hide now calls stopQrLoop, not releaseCamera.

spouliot f881b7dd53 Fix label scanner: full field mapping, vision follow-up lookup, SDS/TDS extraction
- LookupByUrlAsync now maps all identity + spec fields from Claude response
(manufacturer, SKU, colorName, description, sdsUrl, tdsUrl, unitCostPerLb, etc.)
Previously only augmenting fields were mapped; Columbia QR path left 80% blank
- Vision scan follow-up: after ScanLabelAsync reads label text, automatically run
LookupAsync using the extracted manufacturer + color/SKU to fill SDS/TDS URLs,
  product page, image, description, and any specs not printed on the bag;
label values (cure schedule, SKU) remain authoritative and are never overwritten
- SDS/TDS URL extraction: added ExtractDocumentLinks() that scans anchor tags in
raw HTML before tag-stripping, injects found URLs as [Structured Data] lines so
Claude can read and echo them back in the JSON response; previously all hrefs
were lost with the HTML stripping
- Added SdsUrl/TdsUrl to InventoryAiLookupResult, Claude system prompt JSON schema,
LookupAsync mapping, and ScanLabel response (catalog match ?? aiResult fallback)
- SDS/TDS now also stored on auto-contributed catalog entries
- jsQR inversionAttempts: 'dontInvert' → 'attemptBoth' for better QR detection
under varying label contrast and lighting conditions

spouliot 1fc79b77fe Add platform powder catalog, catalog-first lookup, and label scanner
- Platform PowderCatalogItem table (IPlainRepository, no tenant filter) with
full spec fields: cure temp/time, finish, color families, clear coat flag,
coverage sq ft/lb, transfer efficiency, IsUserContributed
- Two EF migrations: AddPowderCatalogItem + AddPowderCatalogSpecFields
- PowderCatalogController (SuperAdminOnly): import from Prismatic JSON scrape,
Lookup AJAX endpoint (catalog-first, ranked by SKU exact match), stats view
  with Tenant Contributed card
- Unified smart Lookup button on inventory Create/Edit: catalog hit fills all
fields via catalogSnapshot pattern; AI augments cure/finish data from product
URL if subscription enabled; catalog miss falls through to AI lookup
- In-browser label scanner (_LabelScanModal): getUserMedia live camera feed,
jsQR auto-detects QR codes in rAF loop; "Scan Label Text" fallback sends
captured frame to Claude vision via /Inventory/ScanLabel
- ScanLabel endpoint handles both QR URL path (LookupByUrlAsync) and vision
path (ScanLabelAsync); auto-inserts unrecognized products as
  IsUserContributed=true; returns wasInCatalog/addedToCatalog flags

spouliot ac3e4452b2 Fix catalog filter leaving items unclickable after filtering
Multi-word search now uses Array.every so word order doesn't matter.
Scroll is reset to top after each filter so visible items aren't hidden
off-screen. A forced layout reflow (offsetHeight read) ensures iOS Safari
re-registers filtered-in elements as interactive — without it, items that
transition from display:none back to visible remain unresponsive to taps.

spouliot 8de9cd04b8 Add server-side dismiss persistence and SuperAdmin onboarding progress page
Progress widget dismiss now POSTs to Dashboard/DismissProgressWidget, writing
GuidedActivationDismissedAt to the DB so the widget stays hidden across devices
and cache clears (localStorage alone wasn't enough). BuildShopProgressWidgetAsync
suppresses the widget server-side when AllDone + dismissed.

New SuperAdmin page at /OnboardingProgress shows the activation funnel across
all tenant companies: wizard status, chosen path, milestone progress bar, key
dates (first job/quote, first invoice, workflow completed, widget dismissed),
and a status badge (Not Started / In Progress / Complete / Dismissed). Nav link
added under Users & Activity in the Platform Management sidebar.

spouliot 73df72ab97 Add dismiss button to progress widget completion state
Shows an × button in the top-right of the completion card so users can
permanently hide the widget once they've seen the success message. Dismissal
is stored in localStorage (same pattern as the collapse state) so it persists
across page loads without requiring a DB migration. The widget hides itself
on the next load before any layout is shown, avoiding a flash.

spouliot 8aae30765f Onboarding overhaul: slim wizard, progress widget, guided activation UX
Setup Wizard: reduced from 10 steps to 5 (Company Info → QB Migration →
Pricing Defaults → Named Ovens → Notifications). Removed Doc Numbering,
Job Settings, Payment Terms, Pricing Tiers, and Team Members steps — these
all have sensible defaults and are accessible any time in Company Settings.
Wizard now completes in ~5 minutes instead of 15–20.

Dashboard progress widget (new): "Get the most out of your shop" checklist
appears for Company Admins after wizard completion. Tracks six post-setup
activation tasks with dynamic progress badge, motivating subtitle copy,
collapsed-state persistence via localStorage, and a full completion state
("Your shop is fully set up 🎉") that replaces the checklist at 100%.
The next recommended step is highlighted with a solid CTA button and a
subtle blue row tint. Completed steps show encouraging green subtext instead
of just "Done". Widget disappears from controller when AllDone would have
caused a silent vanish — now renders the completion state instead.

Guided activation (Daily Board): rewrote the BoardIntroStep callout to lead
with "This is your shop in real time" and a plain-English description of the
board's purpose. Added a separate InstructionText field to
GuidedActivationCalloutViewModel so the "Move this job to the next stage"
action prompt renders as a distinct bold line with an arrow icon rather than
being buried in the body copy. After the stage change, the confirmation
callout now reads "Nice — your workflow just updated" to reinforce what just
happened before prompting the invoice step.

All copy passes the "shop owner, not SaaS" test: no technical jargon,
benefit-driven descriptions, natural language throughout.

spouliot 5631d1d57a Add WarningPermanent toast type and upgrade invoice failure notifications
Email delivery failures and PDF generation errors now show a permanent
warning/error toast that requires manual dismissal, so users cannot
accidentally miss critical action-blocking feedback.

- ToastHelper: WarningPermanent TempData key + Warning/WarningPermanent
extension methods on both ITempDataDictionary and Controller
- SetNotificationResultToast: NotificationStatus.Failed now uses
  ToastWarningPermanent (previously auto-dismissed in 5 s)
- InvoicesController.Send: TempData["Warning"] → TempData["WarningPermanent"]
when PDF generation or email dispatch fails
- InvoicesController.DownloadPdf: TempData["Error"] → TempData["ErrorPermanent"]
with the actual exception message so root cause is visible
- _Layout.cshtml: WarningPermanent hidden div
- toast-notifications.js: WarningPermanent handler (timeOut: 0)

spouliot cad728ba66 Fix passkey login tracking, add email opt-out UI guards, and add Quick/Full quote mode toggle
- PasskeyController: set LastLoginDate on passkey sign-in so Company Health
and audit pages show accurate last-login times (was always showing 'Never')
- Jobs/Index status modal: disable 'Notify customer' email toggle and show
warning when customer has notifications turned off; CustomerNotifyByEmail
added to JobListDto + JobProfile mapping + data-customer-notify attribute
- Quotes/Create: disable 'Send quote via email' checkbox with 'Notifications
off' badge when selected customer has email opt-out; ViewBag.CustomerEmailOptOutIds
  added alongside existing CustomerTaxExemptIds pattern
- Quotes/Create: Quick Quote / Full Quote segmented toggle at top of form;
hides non-essential fields (dates, notes, tags, oven, discount, photos) in
Quick mode; selection persisted in localStorage
- InvoicesController Send action: improved error logging and user-facing
warning when PDF generation or email dispatch fails after status is saved
- item-wizard.js: guard item restoration with try/catch; ensure writeHiddenFields
always runs on form submit via capture-phase listener
- Help docs and AI knowledge base updated for all new features

spouliot 26b8244422 Reduce to 2 concurrent batches to avoid Haiku output TPM bursting

spouliot 97d47dbd1c Fix progress bar timing for sequential batch processing

spouliot 19cc03ad1c Parallelize AI price check batches, increase batch size to 25
500-item catalog was making 50 sequential API calls, causing progressive rate-limit
throttling (explains "super slow towards the end") and ~$3 in credits.

- BatchSize: 10 → 25 (word limits are in place; 25 items × ~80 tokens ≈ 2000
output tokens, well within MaxTokens=8192 — the original truncation cause)
- Run up to 3 batches concurrently via SemaphoreSlim(3) — independent API calls
with no shared state, so no growing context issue
- For a 500-item catalog: 50 sequential calls → 20 calls in ~7 parallel waves,
roughly 4× faster and 60% cheaper
- Dropped unused `costs` param from AnalyzeBatchAsync (system prompt has all costs)
- JS progress timing updated to reflect parallel waves

spouliot 9370fcdd8f Reduce batch size to 10 and tighten AI price check prompt
Still seeing stubs despite MaxTokens=8192 — smaller batches and explicit
word limits in the prompt eliminate any remaining truncation risk.

- BatchSize: 15 → 10 (~1200 output tokens per batch vs. potential 3000+)
- Prompt: added 20-word cap on assumptions, 25-word cap on reasoning
- Prompt: strengthened "nothing before or after the '['" instruction
- Error log: now includes item IDs and first 300 chars of raw response
so the next failure tells us exactly what Claude returned
- JS timing: updated batch divisor from 25 → 10 to match actual batch size

spouliot edce8e8c4a Move passkey enrollment prompt to post-login dedicated page
After password login, users are routed through /Passkey/EnrollPrompt
before reaching the dashboard. The page shows an Enable / Maybe later
choice using the auth layout for a clean full-screen experience.
Users who already have a passkey are skipped past instantly.

Removes the floating bottom-right card from _Layout — the dedicated
page is a better UX touchpoint (one moment, right after login, rather
than a floating card on every page).
